Monitoring the GNU Gatekeeper

When you run GnuGk in production, it is important to integrate it into your overall network monitoring.

You basically have 3 choices

Pick whats best supported by your current network monitoring system.

Plugins

Below are a few plugins for common OpenSource network monitoring systems:
  • Nagios / Incinga: use check_h323 to check if GnuGk (or any other H.323 endpoint) is up
  • Nagios / Incinga: use SNMP to monitor registrations, call volume etc.
  • Xymon (ex Hobbit): hobbit-gnugk
  • Spong: check_gnugk
